> VTFSC Public Records Request - 2020/01/23
Today, and shortly after the VTFSC was scheduled to give testimony to the House Judiciary Committee at 9AM on H.610 (to a Committee that had to scrounge missing members so that they could even have a quorum), the VTFSC served the House Judiciary Committee with a Public Records Request so that we can better understand the manner in which House Judiciary has conducted its business.
We did not take this action lightly, we did so only after lengthy and extremely serious deliberation, and we believe it likely that there may well be some fallout over our action(s). So be it.
The handling of H.610 and its content is so egregious as to what we should expect by a deliberative Legislative Body that we cannot stay silent any longer.
Beyond the infractions listed in the Notice Letter, we have a veritable laundry list of actions that Firearm Rights groups have endured over the years in our efforts to have our points of view heard – and the lack of attentiveness by a significant portion of the Committee and its Chair towards Federation Testimony on such a critical issue today just underscores how shabbily we are treated, and how our views are disregarded or ignored. Links to our Notice Letter and the Action Letter follow. VTFSC testimony on H.610 is further below.

The VTFSC held the drawing as promised in July, and a winner was drawn. That winner however, after winning such an outstanding prize, opted to NOT have his name published. At this time, we can only say that the winner is a disabled Vietnam-era Veteran who resides in Poultney, VT.
